Good golly Miss Molly, Ceylon green tea is the bee’s knees! Grown in the tropical paradise of Sri Lanka, this green tea is smoother than Elvis Presley’s vocals. Made from unoxidized tea leaves, it brews up into a light golden cup that’s clearer than a mountain stream.

Take a whiff of that grassy, vegetal aroma and your nose will be happier than a pig in mud. The first sip is sweet ambrosia, with notes of buttery spinach and fresh-cut grass. It glides over your tastebuds lighter than a feather but with a soothing savory flavor. A subtle astringency rounds out the experience.

Ceylon green tea contains a treasure trove of health-boosting antioxidants that’ll make you feel more energetic than a jackrabbit. Rich in compounds like theanine and EGCG, this tea can melt away stress like butter on a hot skillet. It’s said to boost brain power faster than a rocket, making it the perfect morning cuppa.

Whether enjoyed straight up or with a squirt of lemon, Ceylon green tea is a soothing elixir that delivers delicious flavor and bountiful benefits. One cup and you’ll be saying “Well butter my backside!” at how darn satisfying this green tea from Sri Lanka can be. So fix yourself a glass and take a load off, because Ceylon green tea is the ultimate way to restore and rejuvenate.

How to Make a Cup Of Ceylon Green Tea

Ingredients:

  • Ceylon green tea leaves
  • Fresh cold water
  • (Optional) Lemon, honey to taste

Equipment:

  • Teapot or teacup
  • Teastrainer or infuser
  • Kettle
  • Spoon

Instructions:

  1. Boil fresh cold water in a kettle. Use 1 cup water per 1 teaspoon of tea leaves.
  2. Place the Ceylon green tea leaves into a teapot or directly into a teastrainer or infuser. Use about 1 teaspoon leaves per cup of water.
  3. When water reaches a boil, take it off the heat. Allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes. The water should be hot but not boiling for green tea.
  4. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves. Let steep for 2-3 minutes. Do not oversteep, as the tea may become bitter.
  5. Taste the tea after 2 minutes. If a stronger flavor is desired, let steep for another 30 seconds.
  6. Remove the infuser or strain the tea into teacups.
  7. Add lemon or honey if desired. Ceylon green tea is delicious plain or with these enhancements.
  8. Serve the Ceylon green tea while hot and enjoy its fresh, grassy flavor.

Caution: Be careful not to burn yourself when pouring the hot water.
